Wayland High School’s Tri-M recital took place on Friday, Jan. 30, in the Wayland High School theater. The recital gave student Tri-M musicians a chance to showcase their talents through a mix of solos, duets and quartets featuring a range of instruments and musical styles. The Tri-M Music Honor Society is an international organization that recognizes student musicians for their performance, community service and academic achievement. The WHS Tri-M chapter is one of many worldwide.
Throughout the recital, performers presented pieces ranging from piano solos to group ensembles. The audience included classmates and teachers.
“We’ve been working on the piece for a long time, so it felt rewarding to finally play it in front of such a great audience,” sophomore violinist Elyse Shiozaki Ta said. “We worked a lot on trying to add contrast to different sections, and figuring that out with my sister was fun.”

"The exterior is still a nice monument to remember buildings [involved in] water history," Hoey said. "We all drink lots of water, and it's such an important resource that we kind of take for granted nowadays."](https://waylandstudentpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/IMG_2024-1200x800.jpg)
