On Monday, Feb. 2, the girls varsity basketball team lost to Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School (CRLS) 43-29. This game was Wayland’s sixth loss, and another loss against Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School on Feb. 3 brought their record to 9-7. Wayland has four games left in the season, with the last home game on Feb. 10. Wayland is currently ranked No. 50 out of 62 in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) 2026 Division II girls basketball power rankings. “I think we definitely should have turned it up more in the first half, especially the second quarter,” sophomore Fiona Strehle said. “They definitely outplayed us on defense and offense, and we should have brought some more heat to this game.”
