Wayland boys varsity volleyball won the opening playoff game against Pioneer Charter School of Science with a 3-0 sweep on Saturday May 30, kicking off the championship season. The game was a chance for the usual lineup to be mixed around and for players to challenge their flexibility with positions.

Wrestling and swim and dive teams set for MIAA postseason competition

The wrestling team and the boys and girls swim and dive teams will compete this weekend in the MIAA postseason. Wrestling will compete in the sectional tournament, while swim and dive will compete at the state meet.

It is an important weekend for Wayland High School athletics, as the wrestling team and the boys and girls swim and dive teams compete in their respective Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association tournaments.

Wrestling:

The wrestling team will compete in the MIAA Division 2 Central Sectional tournament Saturday, Feb. 14, at the WHS Field House. Wrestling begins at 9:30 a.m. and is expected to finish around 3 p.m..

Swimming:

The boys and girls swim and dive teams will compete in the MIAA Division 2 state meet Sunday, Feb. 15, at the MIT Zesiger Center. The meet is scheduled to start at 3:45 p.m..
