Starting Monday, April 23, the parking process will change once again and seniors will be parking where, less than a year ago, they were doing homework in the Media Center.
Construction workers are currently completing a 120-space parking lot on the land where the old Media Center stood. With the reduced number of spots in the new lot, parking partners who have not been carpooling will have to resume doing so.
“Eventually there will be enough parking [where the old school was] for faculty, seniors and juniors. There will be about 300 spaces where the old school was and 150 in the current faculty lot,” Dean of Students Scott Parseghian said.
Students are optimistic about the change.
“I hope it will solve the parking issues, especially with all of the juniors,” senior Tommy Hoopes said. “Juniors can’t really park legally here, and some of them park in the back lot because there are no numbered spots. Hopefully they’re numbered spaces so we don’t just have to get what is available.”
Teachers will remain in the new lot for the remainder of the year while juniors still won’t be allowed to park on campus.
The current senior lot will become a grassy, landscaped area with picnic tables where students can spend time during free periods.

the back parking lot was the most useful one on campus. #mistake

it doesn't work at the end of the day when the buses block the seniors from exiting the parking lot.
