Thursday, January 8, 2009 was the day of the showdown between the Wayland Warriors and the Westford Academy Ghosts. In an unbelievably exciting meet, both the men and women teams came out on top. Swimmers and divers on both teams are already looking in post-season shape, swimming lifetime bests only a month into the season.
Both teams exceeded their expectations by winning events and touching people out that they shouldn’t have. The boys team was especially pumped up for this meet because they knew they were racing for the opportunity to go undefeated and become DCL champions, as could the girls who are eying a repeat of last year. Both teams have a perfect record of 8-0.
The boys and girls face Lincoln-Sudbury, another outstanding team in the DCL, on Tuesday.
