The dream playoff run ended for the Wayland High School basketball team last night. The Warriors fought hard, but in the end it was the Watertown Red Raiders who prevailed, 77-68.
Wayland started strong as seniors Charles Brown and Mike Synodis and junior Jeff Brewington carried the team to an early lead. Junior Ian Bonner was huge on the boards, getting more than a few rebounds before fouling out later in the game. In the fourth quarter, Brown nailed down a jumper to earn the 1,000th point of his career, a feat that doesn’t happen very often.
“Everyone played really hard,” said Synodis, team captain. “If a few things went our way we could have won. Overall, it was a great game and a fun season.”

"The exterior is still a nice monument to remember buildings [involved in] water history," Hoey said.
