Q: What school did you attend before coming to WHS?
A: I came from L-S [Lincoln-Sudbury High School in Sudbury, Massachusetts]

Q: How do you like Wayland High School?
A: I like Wayland High a lot. It is such a nice environment. I was so worried coming here because I didn’t know anyone, but now I know so many people.

Q: What are some differences between WHS and your old school?
A: Some differences is that L-S is very sports orientated. For example, if you don’t take part in any sports you are considered to be uncool. At Wayland if you don’t participate in sports it doesn’t matter. Even if you do take part in sports it’s about having fun and not really caring if you win or lose, which is not the case at L-S. Another example of how the two schools are different is that if you wear crocs at L-S, everyone, like legit everyone, will judge you and stare at you and give you very judgmental looks. At Wayland, that is not the case. I was legit so confused when I saw people wearing crocs. Then, when I wore them to school, it was awesome and no one judged me. Wayland is just a nicer place in general, and I really like it, and I’m very happy that I made the decision to switch schools.

Q: What school did you attend before coming to WHS?
A: I went to Åva Gymnasium, a high school in Sweden.

Q: How do you like Wayland High School?
A: I like Wayland High School a lot because mainly the people are very nice and social and open. The social life is pretty fun.

Q: What are some differences between WHS and your old school?
A: The teachers [at WHS] help you a lot. I’m behind because I came late, so they’re really helpful and telling me how I can catch up. And if something’s too hard they really help me get better.

Q: What school did you attend before coming to WHS?
A: Horace Mann High School in New York City

Q: How do you like Wayland High School?
A: It’s good. All of the people [here] have been very welcoming and helpful. They have helped me understand the new schedule and the building. The teachers here are great and I have already learned a lot. The sports teams have been a great way to meet new people and I love how hard everyone works.

Q: What are the main differences between WHS and your old school?
A: It’s a bigger school. Not the campus, but just the amount of people. Also, there’s a larger variety of people. It’s just more diverse here than it was at my old school because I went to a private school in New York City. The sports are much different here, [they’re] more vigorous here than they were [at my old school].

Q: What school did you attend before coming to WHS?
Collège St. Michel in Switzerland.

Q: How do you like Wayland High School?
A: I love Wayland High School, it’s a really pretty school with very friendly students and teachers. When you are a new student it’s a perfect school to join, because everybody is very open and helpful.

Q: What are the main differences between WHS and your old school?
A: There are big differences between my school in Switzerland and Wayland High School. Here you have a lot of options, you can take art classes, music, theater, social studies, languages like Mandarin and a lot of other great opportunities. Wayland High School has a lot of different interesting school sports which you practice everyday. I chose field hockey because we don’t have this sport in Switzerland and so it’s always interesting to have new experiences and it’s a great option to meet new people. The students in the teams are all very nice and [they] support each other. Also the atmosphere at the football games is crazy and so much fun. A huge difference is also the schedules of the school, in Switzerland we start school at 8 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. Wayland High School ends school at 2 p.m., so a lot of kids go to sport practice right after school and have enough time to do their homework after practice. I love the American school system. I am very lucky to be in Wayland High School, here in Massachusetts. It’s a great school, with great kids, great teachers, great classes and you have a great time.
