The WHS’ girls basketball team recently presented the American Cancer Society with a check. The team raised the funds from their annual Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser.

Coach Amanda Cosenza said the team’s goal was to raise merely $2000, but that they had well passed their fundraising goal, with a total of $4,391 raised for the ACS.

The fundraiser was not only to fight cancer, but to also remember to WHS coach and guidance counselor Jim Griffin, who passed away in 2012 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
