Girls’ soccer falls to Newburyport in the D3 North Semifinals (49 photos)

The girls’ varsity soccer team lost to Newburyport in the D3 North Semifinals after penalty kicks. Following the end of normal regulation, the game advanced into double overtime with a 0-0 score. Finishing off a scoreless second overtime, the game concluded with penalty kicks. Wayland fell to Newburyport during the penalty kicks.
The Wayland girls’ soccer team pulled off a major upset to land their spot in the Semifinals after beating top-seeded Saugus as the 16th seed on November 3rd. The team finished the season with 7 wins, twelve losses, and 2 ties.
