1. Wayland Town Beach
This is a great local option for a quick beach day. Grab a towel, sunscreen and a friend, and head to the beach! It’s also a great location to either go paddle boarding or kayaking. There are services to rent either.

2. Rope swings
In the mood for an adventure? Take a trek to the rope swings! These local swings are at Lake Cochituate, so if you’re at the town beach, go find the rope swings for some fun!

3. Ice cream: DQ, Dairy Joy or Ben & Jerry’s
After a hot day on the beach, refresh yourself with some ice cream. Here are three great local options: Dairy Queen, located in Natick, Dairy Joy in Weston, and Ben & Jerry’s in Natick.

4. Sudbury Coffee Works
Need a quick bite to eat? Sudbury Coffee Works serves great smoothies, paninis and other quick snacks.

5. Coastal beach
If you’re eager to explore outside of Wayland, head over to Gloucester or Cape Cod for a “daycation,” where there are many fun beach and shopping options.

6. Rail trail
Go on a bike ride or enjoy a nature walk with friends, family or your pet on the Wayland rail trails.

7. Newburyport
Newburyport is only a 55-minute drive from Wayland, and it has a downtown area with lots of shops, restaurants and beaches. This is a perfect day trip to go to the beach and to get some shopping in!

8. Wellesley
Wellesley is a great option to do some shopping, get your nails done or just get some food. Some popular food options are Cocobeet, Alta Strada, The Cottage and The Upper Crust Pizzeria.

9. Wayland Swim and Tennis Club
Head over to WSTC for a relaxing pool day, or to get some exercise in- grab a friend and play some tennis!

10. Boston
Boston has everything you need from food to shopping to even a Red Sox game at Fenway Park! Plan a day trip into the state’s capital and pack in as much as possible to experience everything it has to offer.
