Student speakers at the graduation ceremony

At the graduation ceremony this upcoming Sunday, there will be five students who will be speaking.

Valedictorian Jake Wang will “ask [his] classmates to remember the inequities that still exist today in the world and to regard their education as a tool to help those less fortunate than us.”

Salutatorians David Goldstein and Theresa Saxton-Fox will look back on their high school careers and discuss their memories.

Goldstein will be reflecting on the high school experiences and relationships that have closely tied one another.

Saxton-Fox will be talking about how the senior class members have changed throughout the years, using the metaphor of constantly changing lunch lines in the school cafeteria.

James Morgan-Delossa, who was selected by the senior class to give a speech at the graduation, says that his speech is “primarily a secret.” He doesn’t want people to know what he is going to be talking about. However, he sent this message to Wayland Student Press regarding his speech: “A reflective on 08’s experiences with natural elements and other things.” He says that even this sentence “pretty much [gives] it away already.”

Senior class president Lauren Grimanis is also going to be giving a speech, but she was unable to be reached.
