December 2, 2022
Students participate in the annual Color Blast event on Monday, Nov. 21. Color Blast is an event that the Wayland High School Student Council holds each year to kick off Spirit Week. Each grade is assigned a wing of the high school to decorate with its own unique color. The freshmen are assigned green, sophomores are blue, the juniors are red and the seniors are orange and black. On Wednesday, Nov. 23, student council advisor and English teacher John Keene announced that the Class of 2026 won Color Blast.

"The exterior is still a nice monument to remember buildings [involved in] water history," Hoey said. "We all drink lots of water, and it's such an important resource that we kind of take for granted nowadays."](https://waylandstudentpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/IMG_2024-1200x800.jpg)
