On Friday, June 2, Wayland High School Principal Allyson Mizoguchi announced that the Class of 2023’s graduation will be postponed until tomorrow, Saturday, June 3 at 6 p.m.

Mizoguchi sent an email to Wayland students and families informing them about the ceremony’s time change, which was originally scheduled for today, Friday, June 2 at 6 p.m.

“We are disappointed to make this change, but given the weather forecast and our desire for a safe and disruption-free ceremony, we believe it is the best decision with the information that we have,” Mizoguchi said.

WHS administration consulted with weather apps, reports and experts to make the decision. Additionally, Mizoguchi advised attendees to plan accordingly for tomorrow’s ceremony because graduation grounds will likely be wet and the air will be cold.

“Tomorrow, graduates should come to the commons at 5:00 p.m., and guests are welcome to begin finding their seats at 4:30 p.m.,” Mizoguchi said.

Mizoguchi thanked attendees for their understanding.

“Thank you for your flexibility and patience as we contend with New England weather,” Mizoguchi wrote. “I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow to celebrate this great Class of 2023.”
