On Saturday, April 6, the Wayland Student Press Network (WSPN) won first place in the NSPA (National Scholastic Press Association) Best of Show Award competition for online newspapers with a student body under 1,800 and its fifth consecutive Online Pacemaker at the NSPA/JEA Spring National High School Journalism Convention in Kansas City. Three WSPN editors work was recognized by Quill & Scroll and six WSPN students received awards for student media contests.

On Thursday, Feb. 2, Wayland High Schools annual talent show took place during fourth block and last block. A variety of students showcased their talents through singing, dancing, comedy or playing musical instruments. A cappella club is a club of WHS that performs several times throughout the school year. This year, after a long audition process, 20 new members were accepted into the ensemble. There are three groups that make up the club which include: “The Madrigals,” “The T-Tones” and “The Muses.” The photo above captures one of “The Muses” concerts from last school year. This group has the tradition of wearing black dresses and red heels while performing.
