For the last 25 years, students have learned escape routes and barricaded doors, wondering whether or not they're going to return home from the school day. While this thought process might sound like a grim dystopian narrative, it is the reality for schools across the U.S., with 83 isolated school shootings in 2024 alone. “Unfortunately, that's the way of the world, and that's part of life right now,” wellness director and former safety coordinator Scott Parseghian said. “We got into teaching to protect the kids and to help them grow.”

Girls tennis hits Bedford with a win

On Friday, April 26, the WHS girls tennis team battled Bedford at home for the third match of the year. The team won the matchup 5-0. The team played Lincoln-Sudbury on Monday, May 6 and lost 2-3.

Hoyt is the son of Hoyt Foundation CEO Russ Hoyt. “[Running a marathon] might seem like a big thing, when it’s presented to you at first, but if you break it up and just keep telling yourself, “Yes, you can,” you can start chipping away at it. And before you know it, you’ll be running the whole 26 miles, and you won’t even think twice about it.” T. Hoyt said.
