*Warning: Spoilers of The Bachelorette ahead!*

After much anticipation, it’s finally time for the new season of ABC’s “The Bachelorette.” Following her multiple unsuccessful attempts at finding love, Clare Crawley has been named Bachelor Nation’s newest and oldest bachelorette at age 39.

Due to COVID-19, production for the Bachelorette was temporarily shut down, but after a few months, Clare and her 31 men arrived at La Quinta Resort and Club located in La Quinta, California where they had to quarantine before filming the show. After many COVID tests, it was confirmed that the entirety of the cast tested negative, and Clare was finally able to meet her men on the first episode, which premiered on Tuesday, October 13.

A lot happened on night one, but for the sake of this article we’ll tell you the three biggest things you need to know about episode one of “The Bachelorette.”

The big news of the night, coming in at 6’3”, was Dale Moss. Anyone who watched the episode instantly knew that Clare was in complete awe when meeting him. And come on, can you blame her? She even admitted that she definitely felt like she had “just met [her] husband,” and from the huge smile on her face, it was clear she had a thing for him. Even Chris Harrison was shocked to hear Clare’s comment toward Dale. Throughout the night, it was clear that Dale was on Clare’s mind. Once she got some one-on-one time with him, they seemed to have a great time together, and he even sympathized with Clare about her ill mother and mentioned similar experiences. This heartfelt moment seemed to make Clare fall for Dale even more, which eventually led to him receiving the first impression rose. Let’s be honest, I think we all knew that was going to happen.

Next, Tyler C. and Yosef: How can you have the Bachelorette without having drama, especially on night one? Tyler C. claimed he had information about Yosef, and of course it wasn’t good. Apparently, Yosef was being “reckless” on Instagram and was flirting with girls who Tyler C. was mutual friends with. Tyler C. tried to be “a man” about it and confronted Yosef without involving Clare. We all knew that one way or another, Clare was going to get involved somehow. When Yosef finally got Clare involved, she didn’t want to deal with a “he said, he said” situation, so she sat down with both Tyler C. and Yosef to see what actually went down. Yosef explained to Clare that despite the accusations, he is there for the right reasons and has good intentions. I mean, that’s what they all say, am I right? The conversation ended up being a back and forth between Tyler and Yosef, so Clare decided to leave to let them handle it while she continued her night by talking with more guys to get a feel for her potential husband. Besides, it seems like they may not have been there for her, and are more in it for the drama.

Last but not least, the rose ceremony! The Bachelor franchise is known for those dreaded rose ceremonies with intense music in the background. Because of the conflict between Yosef and Tyler C, other men were left without time to talk to Clare, so they were counting on their first impressions to get them through the night. Blake M. received the first rose of the night, which could be because of the rule he broke when they were quarantined. During their conversation, Clare revealed that Blake had messaged her through Instagram prior to filming because of her mother’s illness. Something like this could get a contestant kicked off the show, but in this case, it worked out in his favor since Clare appreciated his support, so he’ll be sticking around for now. He was followed by Joe, Eazy and Jason, who all seemed to make good impressions. Much of night’s uncertainty regarded whether Tyler C. or Yosef–or maybe even both men–would be sent home. When it came down to the last rose, Clare ended up giving it to Yosef, while a sad Tyler C. said his final goodbye. But he wasn’t the only one going home: he was joined by Mike, Chris, Page, AJ, Jeremy, Robby and Jordan M.

From the looks of it, Dale seems to be the one Clare is set on. But could things change? I guess time will tell. As usual, this seems like it is definitely going to be the most dramatic Bachelorette season ever–Chris Harrison. See you then!
