Ready, set, go! Indoor track falls short to Waltham

The Wayland High School indoor track team just missed the finish and fell to the Waltham Hawks on Wednesday, Jan. 4. The second Dual County League meet of the 2022-2023 season took place at the TRACK at New Balance, which opened its doors to high school indoor track athletes for the first time this year. In previous years, teams competed at the Reggie Lewis State State Track Athletic Center, but The TRACK at New Balance will host the majority of meets for the DCL this season. Following this meet, four underclassmen qualified for the Freshman-Sophomore Invitational on Jan. 8.

Sophomore Katie White turns the corner during the girls 300 meter race, neck and neck with a Concord-Carlisle runner. This is White's first season on the indoor track team, and in addition to the girls 300 meter, White is the anchor of the girls 4x400 meter relay team.
