On Thursday, March 23, Wayland High School principal Allyson Mizoguchi emailed WHS students and families to inform them that she is one of the three finalists for the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School superintendent-principal position.

Mizoguchi was named a finalist by the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School District School Committee during their meeting on Thursday, March 23. Lincoln-Sudbury has been searching for a superintendent-principal after the resignation of longtime principal Bella Wong, who first became a teacher at Lincoln-Sudbury two decades ago.

The Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School District School Committee hired the Massachusetts Association of School Committees to help support their search to fill the position. They are currently working with the Executive Director of MASC, Glenn Koocher, to screen applicants.

During the week of March 27, the three finalists will make separate visits to Lincoln Sudbury high school and complete finalist interviews. On March 30, the Lincoln-Sudbury School Committee will vote to approve the superintendent-principal.

In her email, Mizoguchi explained her decision to apply for the superintendent-principal position at Lincoln Sudbury High School.

“Due to its unique ‘one-school district’ qualities, I felt a strong urge to apply for the position and explore it as fully as possible,” Mizoguchi said. “I am now fortunate to have the opportunity to move to the next stage of their process, learn and listen some more, and see where it takes me.”

Although Mizoguchi will continue to interview for the Lincoln Sudbury position, in the conclusion of her email, she assured Wayland students and parents that she will continue to focus on the Wayland High School community.

“My heart and mind are with Wayland High School, our amazing students and staff, and the community that supports and partners with us,” Mizoguchi said. “I remain fully committed to supporting our school community during this time as I explore this opportunity.”
