To all my loyal readers, sorry there was no Warrior Weekly last week. I know all of you went on to WSPN and were wondering where it was. Well, I am back. For those who were wondering, last weekend I was in Jacksonville Florida at my cousin’s Bar Mitzvah. Quick shoutout to my awesome family, especially my cousin Jake Goldman who did great this weekend at his Bar Mitzvah. It was great seeing everyone!
Quick highlights from that weekend: My brother, uncle and I shared 24 hamburgers from Krystal’s, a fast food chain in Florida. I met Rick Santorum in the elevator at our hotel; he was speaking at a House of God convention. And my grandma almost burned down the hotel after deciding to light trick candles that couldn’t be blown out.
Now onto Warrior news:
As the fall season winds down, teams are starting to look towards the postseason and playoffs. The process of getting into the playoffs for each sport is very different.
Football needs to win their conference, making football playoffs much different from the other fall sports at WHS.
There is currently a proposal being considered that would change how the high school football playoffs work. If the proposal is accepted, there will be fewer Super Bowls (there are currently 19, and that number would shrink to six), but there would be more teams making the playoffs.
But so far this year, the football team is tied for first place in the DCL Small. Keep it up boys!
For other sports you have to have a record above .500 (you have more wins than you do losses). By looking at Warrior Scores on WSPN, which everyone should look at, you can see the records. Field hockey and girls soccer are our teams at .500 right now. Let’s keep up the good work!
A couple weeks back, I shared some of my professional sport predictions. Those predictions aren’t looking too good.
I said Brad Ausmus would be the next manager of the Boston Red Sox. Late Saturday night, the Red Sox named John Farrell as their manager.
I said the Jets would get blown out by the Texans on Monday Night Football and make Tim Tebow their starting quarterback. They did not get blown out, they only lost 23-17 and went on to beat the Colts on the 14th, with Mark Sanchez as their QB.
I said the Nationals would beat the Yankees in the World Series. Neither team made the World Series, which starts on Wednesday and will feature the Detroit Tigers against the winner of the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants match-up.
I guess I am not that good with predictions after all.
“Playoffs? Don’t talk about playoffs. Are you kidding me? Playoffs?”
