Boys volleyball advances to quarterfinals with 3-0 win over Lowell
Wayland boys varsity volleyball won the opening playoff game against Pioneer Charter School of Science with a 3-0 sweep on Saturday May 30, kicking off the championship season. The game was a chance for the usual lineup to be mixed around and for players to challenge their flexibility with positions.

When did you become interested in art?
I’ve been doing art since before I can remember.

What’s your favorite medium to use?
I like working with pencils, acrylic paint and fabric.

Do you have a favorite piece of your artwork?
Yeah. I made a sculpture of a jacket with forks and knives, and I really enjoyed making that.

Is art something that you want to pursue in the future?
Definitely! I want to go to art school, particularly for fashion.

How has your artwork has progressed throughout high school?
It has definitely progressed a lot. I’ve gained more skills after taking lessons and teaching myself how to do certain things artistically.

Pictured above is one of Ao’s self portraits. Amelia has been drawing for approximately 7 years, and has won many awards. “I just love the safe haven it provides me,” Ao said. “It’s like I can escape all the bad things in life for a period of time when I draw.”
