At the end of the Advisory Program’s first year at WHS, an unfortunate change was made. Last year, seniors were in their own advisory groups while the other grades were mixed together, but this year, sophomores, juniors and seniors are grouped together while freshmen are separated into freshman-only advisories.

The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers had a problem: it needed students to try out its new exam and kids don’t like tests, especially the three to four hour kind. PARCC needed some way to force kids to take its trial exam. Unfortunately for Massachusetts students, the Commonwealth provided the means to do so.
