The Class of 2024 will host a “Parent Dance” from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Sandy Burr Country Club on March 11. The cost per ticket is $15 for individual guests and $25 for couples.

All money made from the “Parent Dance” will go towards lowering prom ticket prices for juniors. All Wayland Public School parents, regardless of which grade level their children are in, are encouraged to attend. Parents can RSVP by filling out a Google form sent out by the Class of 2024 executive board.

“All of the prom committees’ fundraisers now are focused on getting our ticket prices as low as we can for our class,” Class of 2024 Secretary and prom committee member Missy Prince said. “That’s what we’re hoping the ‘Parents Dance’ will help us do.”

The “Parent Dance” is not designed to be a formal dance, but a social event where WPS parents can come together and socialize, while also raising money for prom. The event will include appetizers, music and a bartender to provide refreshments.

The suggested dress-code for the parent dance is semi-formal attire, but there is no requirement for the dress-code.

The Class of 2024 e-board encourages Wayland parents to go to the event to raise money for the Class of 2024’s prom.

“We wanted to create something fun for WPS parents because they deserve to have fun too,” Prince said. “There is a cost for admission, but we hope parents enjoy the dance enough to donate too if they want.”
