During the Wayland Public School Foundations (WPSF) New Years Eve Bash on Dec. 31, 2023, the Foundation received a $10,000 donation from The Villa, one of the largest donations the foundation has received in recent years. “It was the best way to start the new year, doing something for our community and for our students in our schools,” WPSF President Maureen Barnowski said. “It felt so good to start 2024 on such a high note.”

METCO parents hold signs with the uniform message say no to racism written on them. The racist incident regarding Dr. Omar Easy sparked conversations within the METCO community, and parents organized a meeting on the night of Dec. 21 to discuss the incident. [METCO] parents had a meeting yesterday, and 40 parents attended and talked about what had happened, Dorchester resident and METCO parent Toni Lopes said. Thats why so many METCO parents came out today to protest.

Throughout the summer, many different camps and activities utilize the Wayland High School campus. Its amenities, including the Wayland Community Pool and sports fields, made it a popular and convenient location for the Wayland Recreation Department to host Summer Adventure and flag football camp while school wasn’t in session.
