News:
WSPN’s Kally Proctor and Jennifer Shine wrote about WHS students testing for the Seal of Biliteracy. Co-Editor-in-Chief Nadya Chase broke the news of the Wayland School Committee hiring Betsy Gavron as assistant superintendent. Meanwhile, Staff Reporter Sofia Ciciarelli briefed the Claypit Hill PTO’s welcome event for new students and families.
Features:
Staff Reporter Annika Martins overviewed WHS’ Future Business Leaders of America club. Proctor spotlighted the WHS Theater Ensemble.
Sports:
Co-Editor-in-Chief Talia Macchi and Staff Reporter Natalie Greenaway produced a quiz to guess the girls varsity basketball player’s sneakers. WSPN’s Chloe Zilembo spotlighted Caitlin Heus-Smith’s success as a track and field athlete. Staff Reporters Elyssa Grillo and Jessi Dretler produced an article on spring sports teams’ captains preparing for the upcoming season.
A&E:
Proctor reviewed the Broadway play, “Moulin Rouge.” Staff Reporter Mackenzie Macchi produced an infographic to summarize what WHS students did over February break. Staff Reporter Margaret Buffum discussed the top 10 movie sequels coming out in 2024.
Meanwhile, Staff Reporter Melina Barris produced a WSPN “Wordle.” Staff Reporters Edge Wheeler and Alex Evangelista reviewed the album “Vultures 1.”
Multimedia:
Staff Reporters Carolina Sdoia and Evangelista photographed the boys varsity basketball team’s senior nights. WSPN’s Ryan Chase and Staff Reporter Madeline Zajac produced a video on Ben Hammond’s musical life. WSPN’s Reva Datar, Mischa Lee and Barris produced a video on Muffin House Cafe.
Podcast:
Staff Reporters Olivia Green, Buffum and Barris broke down Wayland’s news in Weekly Breakdown Episode 75. Staff Reporters Jane Tardif and Jillian Mele interviewed history teacher Timothy Glavin.
