Warrior Weekly: The Dog House

The Dog House:

I’m trying a new segment this week called The Dog House. The Dog House will be about fantasy football players who have either under or over performed during the week. The players may be involved for personal or general reasons. The bottom line is, you don’t want to be in The Dog House, because it means you’re not doing what’s expected of you.

It should be known that the first person/player in The Dog House is my friend Doug Lyons. He narrowly beat me this week in our match, 89-87. Doug is a newcomer to our league and has experienced beginners luck, finding himself in first place. I think the other members of my league agree it’s time for his luck to run out.

Roddy White (Personal and general) White beat all other receivers last year in receptions, but not this year. He only mustered two points this week.

Deangelo Williams (Personal and general) The Panthers back signed an 85 million dollar contract in the offseason and has not been playing like he’s worth it.

Billy Cundiff (General) It’s not okay for a kicker to get 18 points, unless of course, he’s on your team.

Sean Payton and the Cleveland Browns (Personal) I had a two point lead until the Browns scored a touchdown on my defense. Payton chose to go for it on fourth down instead of using my kicker for a chip shot.

If anyone has any suggestions for The Dog House, sound off in the comments; I’d love to throw some more over or under performing players in there.

Warrior Recap:

Girls volleyball: The volleyball team has yet to earn a W since their two-game win streak in September. With five games left, they’ll be trying to finish the season strong and capture their third win.

Football: The football team fell to Lincoln-Sudbury on Friday, 19-0. They played with a lot of heart and fought till the end, but they couldn’t contain LS all night. Starting QB Matt Goddard was knocked out of the game in the first quarter. Senior Kamari Allen-Howard had to step in. The offense was unable to muster any points in the rain, but the defense held true to their gap responsibilities for most of the game. Next up, the Warriors head to Westford Academy.

Girls field hockey: For the first time all year, the field hockey team finds themselves facing some adversity. They fell to Weston 2-0 on Tuesday and now sit second in the DCL Small. They head to Westford Academy this week and finish the season with three home games. The girls will be looking to figure out their difficulties and gear up for a long tourney run.

Girls soccer: The girls soccer team had their best week all season, getting two wins. They started off the week with a 3-1 victory in Brookline. Then they beat Boston Latin 1-0 on Friday. The girls face a tough test on Tuesday when they host Acton-Boxborough, but they hope to keep the momentum rolling.

Boys soccer: After our second preseason, we faced off against Boston Latin Saturday night. In a game that got very chippy, had a few scrums and produced a red card, we were able to keep our cool and record our first shutout of the year, 3-0. Thanks to all the fans who showed up to the game, and the girls who painted their faces, nice touch. We go to Topsfield on Monday to play Masconomet, then return home for senior night against Weston on Saturday night at 7. Come! You won’t regret it, I promise.

The season is over halfway done, the weather is starting to change and fall is in the air. As always, check the Warrior Scores for the latest scores.
