Wayland boys varsity volleyball won the opening playoff game against Pioneer Charter School of Science with a 3-0 sweep on Saturday May 30, kicking off the championship season. The game was a chance for the usual lineup to be mixed around and for players to challenge their flexibility with positions.

Wandering Backpack asks what would you bring if you had 10 minutes to pack a bag with your most treasured items, knowing you wouldn’t be back for years.

Baby picture: I would want to have a picture of my new baby with me because it always makes me smile.

Wedding photo album: It’s filled with faces of my family, friends and great memories.

Sweatshirt: It’s like a comfort item.

Sneakers: I would be comfortable no matter where I was wandering with my Wandering Backpack.

Computer and iPhone: Between phone calls, emails, texts and FaceTime, I could stay connected with my loved ones. My iPhone has my music and my books on it.

Rosary beads: This is a gift from my grandmother. [It would] help me stay connected with my faith no matter where I am.
