Black Lives Matter Protest (28 Photos)

A protest was held in the Wayland Town Center on Sunday, May 31 in solidarity with Black Lives Matter demonstrations occurring across the nation. These protests are taking place in the wake of the death of George Floyd, an African-American killed by a white police officer on May 21. Although many protesters did their best to practice social distancing, the demonstration was a show of unity and a coming-together of younger kids and students, the elderly and families. Many signs referenced George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement, had calls to end racism, or used the phrase frequently used throughout the international protests occurring over the past several weeks, ‘No justice, no peace.’

"The exterior is still a nice monument to remember buildings [involved in] water history," Hoey said.
