Kally Proctor, Class of 2024, is a third year reporter and co-features editor for WSPN. She is captain of the high school’s mock trial team and tennis team in the spring. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with friends, visiting new places and finding new books to read.

![A banner hung in the entrance to the WHS commons welcomes students and parents in to Wayland's annual STEM Fair. The fair featured set-ups from WHS clubs and organizations, as well as engaging activities related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics. ![Earlier this month, WHS students auditioned for the highly selective Eastern Senior Districts ensembles. These ensembles allow high school students to improve their own musical ability and to play with other accomplished musicians as well. "I really like watching the district rehearsals," WHS band director Joe Oneschuk said. "You get to see the whole creative process happen. ![Junior Ciaran Murphy’s composition, “Rondo in C”, is displayed on his laptop. Murphy started composing music as a way of following in his dad’s, who is a musician and composer, footsteps. “I always heard [my dad] and saw him composing music in his office,” Murphy said. “My dad would let me mess around on his composition software when I was really young and it’d always just be like conglomerations of notes. ![History teacher Laine Winokur is in her second year of teaching at Wayland High School. This year, Winokur has become further involved in the school community as a new advisor for WHS' alliance club, a club which focuses on educating people on LGBTQ+ issues and providing a safe space for queer students. “Especially the safe space part [is important to me],” Winokur said. “We’re very lucky in the part of the country we live in and the community that we live in that, in general, it is a fairly safe place to live. "I’ve noticed [a decrease] in my motivation to do any tasks," senior Angela Liu said.
