Class of 2025 sets the stage for the Senior Show
On Wednesday, March 19, teachers from all Wayland Public schools gathered to demonstrate against the recent actions of the Trump administration, which is seeking to shut down the Department of Education. "I want [students] to know that we're gonna fight for them and for their resources," English teacher Kelsey Pitcairn said. "This is not just about our job as educators. It's about our mission and values as educators."

Wayland High School will be hosting its second annual Wayland Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Fair on Sunday, Dec. 8 in the high school commons. Co-organizers and seniors Arya Samaratunga and Eunjee Kang worked together to plan an event where anyone can come and embrace the intricacy of the STEM program and community.

Every day they repeated it to you.”
WMS teachers climb Mount Kilimanjaro to make a difference
Cape Cod is a popular tourist destination for Massachusetts residents and enjoy the scenery that the coastal area has to offer. Unfortunately, Cape Cod is being faced with consequences of climate change such as rising sea levels, erosion and a loss of biodiversity. “[My family and I] have been going there since 1984, so we really watched the Cape shrink every year,” lifelong Cape Cod visitor Mary Hicks said.

The Wayland Scholarship Foundation was created to help students reach their future goals when choosing which college to attend. “I have a lot of ambitious goals for the program,” Committee Chair Jeanne Brown said. “But primarily, the goal is to ensure that students who have academic promise and financial need get a little help getting to their first year of college.”

After the Raider's first goal of the game, scored by senior captain Luke Galizio, the players pile onto the glass by the student section to celebrate, igniting the crowd into a roar. "The atmosphere was incredible, having two towns that both come to support us is amazing," Galizio said. "When [the crowd] started chanting 'Raider nation' it made [the game] feel like it wasn't just one team against another, we had a whole building of fans supporting us."

After an exciting basket, Wayland players on the bench shot up to cheer for their teammates. Head Coach Stephen Marks directed his players where to go on the court in order to successfully defend the other team.
Girls basketball falls short to Dover-Sherborn on senior night
In honor of the annual Coaches vs Cancer, all players wore pink bows in their hair. In addition to the bows, the team wore matching pink shirts and spent time before the game setting up the gym with pink streamers and hearts.

During halftime, the team skates off the ice and heads to the locker room. While both teams took their breaks, they also had pep talks for their game plans. "The team played hard, we just couldn't get pucks past such a talented goalie," senior Graham Henrich said.
