"Hidden Figures," a 2016 Oscar nominee that details the story of three African American women working for NASA, was shown as the featured film during this year's Winter Week. The film was selected by Student Council in an effort to reestablish the Winter Week movie as a tradition and reaffirm its purpose. “I think [this year’s] Student Council wanted to be clear and transparent about the purpose behind showing a movie,” Principal Allyson Mizoguchi said. “The idea in general is to have a shared experience amongst students that’s entertaining, educational and uplifting.”

After 27 years with Wayland Public Schools, Happy Hollow Elementary School Principal James Lee is preparing for his retirement at the end of the 2018-19 school year.
