"I'm hopeful that sort of the impact of the partial freeze hasn't been felt or realized by our students," WHS Principal Allyson Mizoguchi said. On Tuesday, Jan. 28, Wayland Cares director J Verhoosky led a presentation on the importance of choosing to be vulnerable in conversations. Through various activities and experiments, the audience was instructed to confront how they approach risk taking and their comfort zones. “[My biggest takeaway was] make yourself available for other people and share things you might not share with other people to make them feel like they're in a safe environment,” junior Addison Voight said.

Senior Sully Nguyen sings the song "Animal" by Neon Trees, alongside senior Alex Irwin. Nguyen founded the Guitar Club and has slowly been recruiting new members. His guitar journey started in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and everything was shut down. "I just figured I'd pick it up since we were stuck inside," Nguyen said. Although he prefers playing the guitar, Nguyen has taken singing classes the past two years at WHS and sang most of his life. "I'm really excited to see where this club will go after I graduate," Nguyen said.
