News:

Staff reporter Brasen Chi looked into the planning behind the Computer Science club’s hackathon. Meanwhile, staff reporters Genevieve Morrison and Charlotte Thirman reported the potato mystery at the Wayland Public Library.

Editor Taylor McGuire shared Superintendent Arthur Unobskey’s update on snow days in the Wayland Public Schools, and McGuire also reported the snow day on Tuesday, Feb. 2.

Sports:

WSPN’s Garrett Spooner talked to Wayland High School swimmers about what is is like to compete virtually, and staff reporters Aditya Weling and Michael Nechipurenko summarized the COVID-19 precautions that are in effect for this winter sports season.

A&E:

WSPN’s Haley Melvin shared the WHS hockey team’s music playlists, and Melvin also interviewed the two Fashionistas of the Month: freshman Lilly O’Driscoll and senior Jett Peter.

Staff reporter Bryn Curtin discussed the creation of the National Art Honors Society’s virtual winter art show, and editor Alyssa Dickstein shared the link to the virtual art exhibit.

Staff reporter Olivia Tawakol interviewed the Artist of the Month, Katherine Lambert, and guest writers Sophia Mastrangelo and Maria Perdomo added on to their series, “The Bachelor Rewind,” where they summarize the latest drama from ABC’s television show.

Opinion:

WSPN’s Julia Raymond and staff reporter Izzy Poole-Evans wrote a two-sided piece where they each shared their opinion on traveling amidst COVID-19.

“Don’t let others guilt you about your trip,” Raymond said. “Everyone has different reasons for traveling, some more valid than others, but don’t let others judge your decision.”

Broadcast:

WSPN’s Deirdre Brown along with staff reporters Jacqueline Cahaly and Ellie Smith recorded episode 15 of their series, “Weekly Breakdown,” and they published episode 10 of their series, “Healthy Living.”

Editor Josh Schreiber and staff reporter Sam White commentated the boys basketball game where they won against Bedford, and staff reporter Max Brande and Spooner filmed episode 11 of the second season of “Sports Junkies.” Meanwhile, guest writer Andrew Boyer with White and Spooner published another installment of “Half Hour Hook” where they recapped the first couple months of the NBA season.
