Ask Vilma: Play to your strengths

I sing in one of the groups, and my friend told me that if i can’t get a girl after my solo performance, i never will be able to. Unfortunately, i am struggling getting a girl, WHY?!? What can I do to control this troubling and unfamiliar situation?

Your friend was right. If you can’t get a girl after a solo performance you probably never will. If you just solo-ed and you still don’t have a girl, you probably aren’t playing your cards right. You can’t be too pushy but you also can’t just sit in the corner and hope they come to you. Strike up a conversation with a girl you are interested in and if you were good in your solo, she will probably compliment you on it. This is when you strike. Try to be modest and let her tell you how good you were. This is when you sing a few bars. She will ask you to sing some more and you say maybe later you will give her a special performance. Never let your solo go to waste.
