The lights were dimmed down low, but you could still see the outline of the 2010 sign hanging from the ceiling. “Party in the USA” blasted over the loud speaker, and the Senior Show was underway.

On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night the class of 2010 took center stage and gave us a memorable Senior Show. It started with Principal Tutwiler, played by De Cooper, and Vice Principal Klimasmith, played by Nick Van Sciver, getting a phone call from Brendan Stack who told them that class president Bobby Dresser has been lost. Throughout the show, seniors Brendan Stack, Abe Freedberg, and Sam Boegelhold look for Bobby, like the film The Hangover.

In between, there were many skits taking the traditional shots at various students and teachers. However, a Thursday night favorite,”Photo Shoot,”  had to be taken out. During this skit, upperclassmen portrayed underclassmen girls getting their yearbook pictures taken.

The class of 2010 portrayed teachers cleverly with “inner thoughts” skits. Students playing teachers would walk across the stage, and their thoughts would be heard on the loud speaker. My favorite was VP Klimasmith, who was heard thinking,”Do you think people would know my name if I wore a name tag?….No.”

Something that also caught my eye was the superb video production. The “Intramural Basketball League,” “We Belong Together” and “Finding Bobby” videos were all made extremely well and were very funny. The IBL video was an intense display of the quality competition during this past season. “We Belong Together” was a hilarious video staring Taylor Bridgeman, Jon Bryant, and Mike Antonelle, who sang the Mariah Carey song together in a bubble bath. The show concluded with the “Finding Bobby” video, in which Brendan, Abe and Sam find Bobby on the roof of the pool and then run through campus, changing into shirts and ties on the way. Bobby gives his graduation speech, and the twenty-ten chant begins.

As always, there were multiple dance routines. The boys showed off their bodies in the traditional striptease, and the girls showed us their moves, dancing to Ke$ha’s “TiK ToK.” Watching the dances, the audience could tell that the class of 2010 was having a good time. The boys who danced to Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” did a nice job honoring the late singer with their leather jackets, jeans, and dance moves.

All in all, it was a great show for siblings, parents and students to enjoy. Directors Katie Miller and Christian Torti, along with script editor Andrew Pilkington and the rest of the senior class put together a show that will not be soon forgotten. They also answered the question on everybody’s minds: Are they ten, two-thousand and ten, or twenty-ten?
