Since October, Wayland Public Schools has been experiencing a partial budget freeze due to the rise in certain services and inflation. "I'm hopeful that sort of the impact of the partial freeze hasn't been felt or realized by our students," WHS Principal Allyson Mizoguchi said. "That's the most important thing that everybody's sort of working on."

"My favorite part of tiktok was the organic algorithm that gave everyone a chance to succeed, along with the community it brang, other apps haven’t been able to replicate it for a reason," social media influencer and junior Zoey Garcia said. "It’s different and super special to not just creators but so many users.”

Students obtain their licenses during different times of the school year, and the price range of parking passes for the WHS student lot varies from $220 to $55 as the year goes on. Since every student who parks in the student lot each day requires a parking pass, nearly 200 students have spent hundreds of dollars on parking passes this year. “I think it is kind of ridiculous how the taxes in this town are already consistently one of the highest in the state and we have to spend over 200 dollars just to park at the school,” Student Council President senior Venezia Sebastianelli said.

“I need to be the calm in the storm in these types of events,” Wayland Public School’s Director of Technology Jenn Judkins said. “It’s literally what you train for.” This mindset has been crucial for Judkins to maintain in the last two weeks due to the global PowerSchool student and teacher information breach.
