WHS to hold Lunar New Year celebration

On Sunday, Jan. 30 from 2 pm to 5 pm, WHS will host many Lunar New Year activities, including arts and crafts, tea ceremonies and a Chinese folk performance preceding the actual Lunar New Year on Feb....

Above is junior Lily Toto (third from left) in front of the Morogoro Regional Hospital in Tanzania. Toto spent three weeks in Africa as part of a medical program, and she is now raising money to buy equipment for the hospital.  I’d say [the program] made me so much more aware of how so many people in the world live, Toto said.

Above is senior Tori Varnau with her teammates on the girls varsity volleyball team. Along with being the co-captain of the girls varsity volleyball team, Varnau is also the co-captain of the Model United Nations club (Model UN), a captain on the Wayland ski team and the co-founder and co-president of the People Assisting Wilds and Strays club (PAWS). “I like to think of myself as someone who the group members or team members can ask questions [to] and someone that can help them, Varnau said.
