In Weekly News Previews, WSPN’s News section will discuss upcoming events for the greater WHS community.

The annual WMS and WHS Jazz Concert will take place on Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the WMS Auditorium. The WMS Jazz Band, under the direction of Rebecca Pagano, and the WHS Honors Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of  Joseph Oneschuk, will be performing at the concert. There will be no cost to attend the concert.

The WHSTE fall musical, “Little Shop of Horrors,” will be playing in the WHS auditorium from Nov. 16 to Nov. 18. The musical will be new drama teacher Aidan O’Hara’s first project at WHS. Senior Logan Dawson and sophomore Samantha Potter will perform respectively in lead roles as Seymour and Audrey. Tickets will cost $10 for students if bought at lunch or online but will increase to $18 at the door. The adult price is $15.

On Saturday, Nov. 18, WHS musicians will be heading to Milton High School to audition for the Massachusetts Music Educator Association’s Eastern Senior District festival. Acceptance rates are low and competition is high for this annual audition. High-scoring students may be eligible to audition for state or national level ensembles.

The Vokes Players of Wayland will be performing Chicago at Beatrice Herford’s Vokes Theatre on Route 20 in Wayland from Nov. 2 through Nov. 18, Thursday through Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. Ticket prices are $23 for Thursday evenings and $28 for Friday & Saturday evenings.

WHS’ three a cappella groups are performing in their first concert of the year on Monday, November 20 at 7:30. Ticket prices are $5 at the door for students.

WHS’ Chorale and Honors Concert Chorus are collaborating with the middle school for the middle school-high school concert on Dec. 14. at 7:30 p.m. It will take place in the WHS auditorium. There will be no cost to attend the concert.
