News Brief: Robotics team competing in the New England Regional Tournament

Pictured above is the venue of the WHS Robotics Team’s recent North Shore competition two weeks ago. The team is competing this weekend at the New England Regional Competition.

Wayland High School’s robotics team will be competing today, Saturday, April 8, in the FIRST Robotics League’s New England regional tournament at the University of New Hampshire’s Whittlemore Center in Durham, NH. The competition will be on a live stream from Thursday through Saturday. The results and schedule will be posted here throughout the day.

Each match will be around two and a half minutes. There are 128 qualification matches, with Wayland competing in 12 of them. The team competed on Thursday, around 4pm and 6pm, and on Friday, around 9:45am, 11:30am, 1:45pm, 3:15pm, and 4:30pm. They will have two games today, one around 10am and one at 10:45am. If they progress through the qualifications, they will compete in the playoffs, which will also be held Saturday, later on in the day.

When on the live stream, Wayland’s team number will be 5735. The number will show up in matches where they compete.
