Zippity-Do-Dog is a hot dog stand that was founded in 2007. This food trolley is currently under the ownership of Roland Houle. It is located on Speen Street in Framingham, Massachusetts. “I took over the stand and have been running the stand since 2019,” Houle said. “I enjoy making hot dogs and providing a quick and easy meal for people on the go.” Houle, working through COVID, made an impact on the Framingham community with his outdoor trolley.

WHS guidance counselor Jim Girard is now coaching Wayland football after stepping down from being Lincoln Sudbury's head coach. “I stepped down as the head coach at LS following the 2023 season so that I could spend more time with and care for my ailing parents who live out of state,” Girard said.

Three Wayland High School (WHS) teams are still in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association playoffs. On Nov. 6, the girls volleyball team swept Greater New Bedford 3-0 and are now in the Elite 8 and hosting Bishop Fenwick on Friday Nov. 8. Boys soccer is playing Marblehead at the WHS turf on Nov. 7. Football is playing no.7 Burlington on Friday Nov. 8 away.

Head coach of the Wayland varsity boys soccer team, David Gavron, holds the 2014 state championship trophy, alongside assistant coach Charles Goodhue. Gavron has been the head of the boys soccer program since 2008, and the program has won 3 state titles under his leadership. “I'm really glad that all of our coaches, we get to work together,” Gavron said. “Just because you might have a title next to your name, it doesn’t really mean anything in our program. It’s all about what we can do to make the boys experience better and make our program stronger."

Senior athletes Hilla Almog, Nick Dresens, Darcy Foreman and Ella L’Esperance are among the students of the class of 2021 who will be pursuing their careers in athletics to the next level. They discuss the difficulties caused in the recruitment process due to COVID-19 as well as reflect on the support they have received. “It was really the culture of the team that drew me to the school in the first place, and it was the culture of the school that made me commit there,” Foreman said. “I’m excited to be surrounded by like-minded people and people who all share a common goal of wanting to row fast and win.”

The math department now distributes blue books or reflection sheets where students can write skills they need to work on and reflect on their tests. However, students still are not allowed to keep their math assessments. “We want to continue that idea of getting kids to think about what types of problems they understand and don't understand so that they can focus on that, rather than focusing on a single test question,” math department head Barbara Coughlin said.

Many buses arrived to various Wayland Public Schools late during the first few weeks of school due to the change in traffic throughout Wayland. “What was happening was a lot of kids were getting here late, a lot of the buses were late, so we moved some of the buses earlier,” WPS Superintendent Arthur Unobskey said. “We still have some buses that are coming a few minutes late, so we will probably need to make some adjustments for those as well.”
